I was at a talk for Suzie Dent's new book on emotional language and there was a question asked whether she prefers a "z" or a "s" in words like "Lazer" and "Razor" she said that was the original version. Like most things seen as americanisms in language they are actually the way words used to be spelt. I personally like the use of the "z", as a graphic designer it is an underused glyph. There is an exotic beauty to it's zigzag pattern. We should bring back the use of zeds instead of ess's
